I fixed my Legacy GT! It was throwing a P0303 code aka cylinder 3 misfire.
Already did the coil pack and spark plug so that left me with replacing the injector. Never did this job before, never want to do it again.
This is the easy year to fix they said.
Move aside the coolant reservoir to get to the injector they said.
Unclip the electrical connector and pull the injector straight out they said.
I’m convinced Subaru engineers have the hands of small children. It looks like I had hand to hand combat with a pack of rabid hyenas.
This thing can go straight to hell.
On a more positive note, the Z06 got fresh tires and is ready to race.
And a family pic. Hope your Friday is going smoother than mine!

I’m pretty sure Subaru engineers don’t have hands, just warpable implements to bend space-time
If only EssExTee could be so grossly incandescent

They have morphable Terminator hands.

I’ve got two of those little yellow buggers from having to do that same thing. I don’t have huge hands though.

Sounds like you need to learn how to play the Towers of Hanoi before working on a Subaru engine.

In your Outback, there’s a built-in slot beneath the cargo floor specifically for storing the cargo cover.

I don’t either, I thought I was going to be fine. So, so wrong. I’m going to religiously run fuel injector cleaner from now on.

Thanks! My mom will be glad to hear that since it rattles when it is in place for some reason.

This is exactly how you get the back spark plugs in/out.

It has gotten harder to work on the “top” is Subaru engines over the years. Back in high school I used to steal plug wires off my friends 98 Legacy with the 2.2l as a joke because it was easy to just reach in and pull them off the plugs.

Oh so the cylinder misfire doesn’t always mean head gasket problems? This is useful to know for my craigslist searching.

Nope, not at all. I believe the N/A Subarus had a rougher time with head gaskets than the turbo models. Valve cover gaskets on the other hand...
